Surprise Surprise…
Oh my goodness, I do have some loyal fans! Thanks Jonny! haha… yeah I do apologise. Just been so busy! I’ll try my best to update my blog as often as possible lah!! Going back home to Hamilton this weekend and Jono’s back from Malaysia tomorrow. Should be good to see everyone in the Tron again. tehee..
uh. that’s it for now, promise it’ll be more eventfual in blogs to come!
Long time no see…
Well.. it’s been more than 10 months since I last wrote here. I’m not going to apologise because 1. probably no one is reading it anymore and 2. I had a really good excuse. PAS/PCE2 was taking ALL of my ’spare’ time after work, thank goodness I did pass! Now I am officially a Chartered Accountant… Just have to put my application in. So all is going well.
Actually I’m finding it quite hard to write a ‘blog’… I don’t want to go too personal with it since anyone in the whole wide world can read it. But if I don’t go personal then what can I write about? Maybe just some day to day comments yeah?
Well… like… I just came back from HK, spending 3 weeks with Family (Christmas and New Years), got to see my cousins from all over the world and it’s a weird feeling. They’re all your rallies but yet you don’t know them as well as you know some of your friends. They’re family but it doesn’t feel like it. You should be close but you’re not?? Yeah, hope you get the drift. It was a good break though HK really tired me out. Not sure why, no matter how much I slept I was still tired and not very active. I have come to the conclusion that Hong Kong is very energy-consuming because there is just so many people!! To be honest, I don’t see myself going back to work/live for a while now. I was thinking about it, but maybe not. So what’s next? Staying here at the bottom of the world, or go somewhere else like London? I don’t know. But I am looking for some sort of change soon. I have been working in the same firm for 3 years now, time for change… will see… That’s it for now! Adios!
Continued…
Back! Where was i? Oh yes Waiheke… We finally got on a taxi-like van that offered to take us around the island, to places and pick us up at a pre-determined time. The deal is, the actual 'travelling' time will be an hour long. So, we made our way to town and decided on a place to eat first – this photo was taken when we had lunch, really nice view
![]()
Our first tour spot was one of many (I forgot how many there are on Waiheke Island, the driver did tell us but I forgot oops…) vineyards. And yes - I got a little tipsy just from wine tasting cos I didn't have breakfast! We only had like tiny little pieces of cheese to help me out. In the end, I bought the triple-pack for dad.
After lunch, we went to the nudist beach – yes for real! I thought the driver was joking when he told us that it's a nudist beach. So, as soon as we saw some (nudists) I inevitably spoke very loudly, "can you see can you see?!" to everyone who can hear me. Everyone else shooshed me hehe… That's when I realised that it was in fact a nudist beach. It felt like I was in Europe or something. We almost felt out of place by wearing clothes! These are the photos that we took on the beach – with no nudists of course
Posers……..
Da girls
Then, we started taking jumpy photos! Jason was the chief photographer and captured some really cool photos when we were 'high up' in air. Disclaimer: none of the following has been tampered or edited in anyway. It was solely and purely the result of a highly skilled photographer and wire works. haha…. But yeah, seriously, nothing's been done to the photos, pretty cool huh!
haha. look at the girls' hair and maria's tail
You can tell Jason wanted to kick Weij like that for ages….
This one cracks me up!
Man I wish I had been in some of these jumpy shots. Unfortunately, before we started taking these photos, I kicked a rock on the beach and it hurt real bad. When I sat down, Maria pointed out that my toe was bleeding! When I took a closer look, there was a splint stuck in my second toe on my left foot! >.< Why was there a splint on a rock, I don't know! So yeah, that put me off from any kinda walking, leave alone jumping
ANyway, lucky I was going home that night, my mummy got it out painlessly (and also sewed up my pants haha…. ).
Anyway, we just walked around the beach – and discovered that there was a family area on nudist beach! On the other side of the beach, no one was nude, and little kids were running around, building sand castles. The beach was effectively divided into two parts – the nude part and the clothed part haha… that's quite interesting don't you think?
Later on, we got dropped off at the Arts/piano museum at about 4pm, and was told that these museums close at 4.30. As soon as we got off the taxi/van and paid for the services for the day, we discovered that the piano museum has already closed! And so was the Arts Museum. I managed to sneak inside for a little look and was pretty much hurried back out. So we made out way back to the wharf and took the 5pm ferry back to Auckland city. It was really a great day. Day trips are quite fun! I would be keen to go back there later to have another look!
On Sunday, we had a family BBQ – ate heaps as usual and had every kinda of meat that you can think of. Also had some rich Boston Choc cake (my coussie Mike bought it). So THAT'S the coolest birthday celebration ever! Nearly a whole weekend of celebration (or just an excuse to enjoy life while we can!).
Sorry for the photo sizes… for nicer photos please go to Wei-Yen's site http://tcs01.no-ip.com/weiyenweb/gallery/Manners-in-Waiheke?page=1
Okay here I go again
Well! It’s been like just a little more than 3 weeks since my last post. It threw me out totally when I couldn’t figure out how to upload photos – I had an IS major ow!!! haha… Nah that didn’t put me off posting, was just busy and lazy. Heaps have happened indeed since my last post. Trying to put the events into words in chronological order…
Oh before I do that, I’ll UPLOAD some photos from Christchurch – yes a little delayed but I finally figured out (well WY explained it in the ‘comments’ hehe) so there ya go!
Just three for now cos there are going to be more photos to come!
Anyway – last weekend I turned 23!! And a group of us went to Waiheke Island. It was truely awesome! I’ve never been there before so decided to go out there for a day trip for my birthday this year. So got up early (just in time for the 10am ferry) and took the ferry across after a semi-late night of celebration for Woody’s 24th the previous night. It was a gloomy day to start off with. The ferry ride took about 40-45min. The moment we stepped on the island, we were overwhelmed by tour guides.
Oops sorry, gtg do something… (I could’ve saved it as ‘draft’ and post it later but neh! hehe…. wanna post something anyways!!) BRB!
Images…
Weiyen! Help!! How do you upload photos?
Salsa.. ooo la la…
My apologies for not writing for nearly two weeks… oh it’s been more than two weeks oops. Christchurch was good!!! I’ll figure out how to put some pictures on here and you can have a look below. Life has been quite busy lately. Nearly got something on every night. Hm, what happened during the last two weeks..? Well, jonny’s farewell party was on last Saturday, and it was a blast! Thanks to Woody for his excellent hospitality and all the backstage organisers. I think WY would have most of the pictures from the party on his blog/website. I only took a few and they’re stil on my camera hehe.
Then, there was Josh’s 21st. It was at Weisen’s and we had a nice dinner. The Hamilton crew came up as well (was meant to be a surprise) but apparently Josh expected it anyways. Haven’t seen them in a while and Mr. and Mrs Oh are looking fine I have to say!
The boys took off Josh’s pants and that’s pretty much it. None of the flouring and egging like Steven’s 21st unfortunately.
Went to Salsa for free last night in Newmarket! We got some free tickets from Chee’s birthday a few weeks ago so decided to get a group together and give it a go. It was quite fun except the guys were all sweaty (some even smelly). There were like about 50+ ppl which was a pretty big class. We did some basic steps etc so wasn’t really hard to pick up. The instructor kept telling us to have more ‘hip’ movement. For Mr Tan, I think they turned into ‘bum’ movements. Quite fun to stand in an circle, and the guys going down one girl at a time as the instructor told them to after maybe a combo or two. So you don’t get stuck with just one partner all night! Not sure I’ll keep going though, might move on to intermediate if I do after a couple of times. I might do hip-hop instead though then I wouldn’t have to partner with any sweaty guys
hahhaa….
Oh better start putting on some photos first…
Aiya I can’t figure out how to put the image up….that was my first attempt… let me have another look…
Last day of work for the week!
Hm… today’s gone reasonably quickly, being reasonably busy… The whole office (except for the admin team and other junior accountants) is flying down to Christchurch tomorrow morning for our national conference. We’re gonna have some hard out seminars (somewhat like lectures back at university) about tax, GST, companies, trusts, FBT, Tax, Tax and Tax… Fun…Yep that’s what accountants do
Well, it’s free accomodation, free food, free drinks, and for the first time I’m gonna be going to the South Island! So yeah quite excited. Having a short week is quite rewarding already.
It was my daddy’s birthday yesterday and no he’s not romantic at all apparently haha…
Mum and dad went out for dinner though which I thought was nice cos it’s really hard to drag dad out of the house. Wish I were there, though I will be the third wheel hehe.
Just put my place on trademe on Sunday arvo, still no response though. For those of you who want to have a look or would like to pass on the good news to your friends who are looking for a place to buy, feel free to check it out here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Property/Houses-for-sale/auction-47877306.htm
Alrighty, I’m getting distracted by the TV atm, will have to concentrate on one or the other very soon! have a good night all and a good weekend. I regret to advise you that I will not be posting for the weekend as it is not likely that I will have internet access or have time to post anything while I’m in Christchurch. Although I intend to load some nice pictures of the beautiful land of Christchurch upon my return
Thank you for being a loyal supporter of my blog
haha..
Have a good weekend all, and for Matt Fong, Happy Birthday in advance while I remember
Oh I’m not even sure if he reads this ahha.. probably not
I’ll send you a text on the day Matt!
Ciao!
Happy Tuesday :)
I have nothing else to say today…
Valentines Day tomorrow?
ooo.. it’s Valentines eve tonight haha, wonder if every couple’s going to something tomorrow. As for me, I think I’ll go for a swim, bet you the pools will be free! hehehe…
Went to the Lantern Festival at Albert Park yesterday arvo with a few friends, it was quite good ay. I was impressed with the food! Later on we went into the park and there were performances (wushu or Kung Fu) – I’m sure Mike my cousin and I did better than them when we were young! ha!! Later on that night, they turned the performance area into a Karaoke stage! There were a few really good performances, but a few of them really woke up my goosebumps… Towards the end they had fireworks! Though there were long silent intervals between fireworks so we left after the first lot was fired. Basically we missed out on about 2/3 of the whole thing! Pretty good effort for the Chinese community though.
Oh and yeah, on Saturday night, I fell over… again.. . walking down the steep road from my place – my kinda semi-high-heel shoes probably didn’t help either. I slipped landed on my right knee. a piece of skin, about the size of a 50c coin came off and it bled. I think I should be more careful when I walk ay…
Anyway, listed my place on Trademe just now. Hopefully I’ll get some response. Gotta run now, Laura has kindly invited me for dinner tonight, then Desperate Housewives it is!!
Chill….
Thursday Arvo…
Wah me so sleepy! One hour really makes a difference. If you remember what I said this morning – I came to work at 7.15!! Yes, anyways, the real estate agent came and checked my place out, did an appraisal etc and yeah. Agreed to list the place on the 1st March, meanwhile I’ll try to sell it privately, maybe on Trade me… will get on to that soon.
And guess what, we’ve finally received the PAS/PCE2 invoice – $3,888 to pay, one that I’ve been waiting for ages and looking forward to YEAH WHATEVER!And yes a lucky number in Chinese. Oh well! So when April comes, I’ll be studying and working full time. The joy of a working adult and a part-time student Horray!! ARGH!! @_@ I can do it though… so many ppl have done it. Shouldn’t be too different for me. So yeah, pretty much this whole year I’ll be quite busy and wouldn’t be able to socialise as much. Not really looking forward to it but hey, at the end of it you get a piece of paper saying that you’re a ‘Chartered Accountant’. I think I really need that since I don’t do too well in making impressions that I could be a smart and intelligent individual. Instead people look for blonde roots on me
I don’t mind though, bringing people laughter is good – I prefer to think that my friends usually laugh WITH me
Alrighty, time for my CLCA audition.
God Bless
